A Family Company since 1934
In 1934 Greek immigrants Nicholas, Charles, and William Decas saved money from selling fresh fruit at the market on Main Street to purchase 15 acres of cranberry bog near Mary’s Pond in Rochester. The land was in foreclosure and they believed it would be a good investment. Eighty years later those first few acres have grown to over 450 acres of cranberry bogs in Massachusetts, and 3500 more acres are contracted from independently operated farms throughout the United States and Canada.
Better Berries to 35 Countries
Every year, Decas distributes 60 million pounds of cranberry products to more than 35 countries, and we continue to grow. We are dedicated to providing only the best cranberries to our customers – whether at the grocery store as Paradise Meadow and Funny Face Cranberries or to food companies who only want the best ingredients for their granola bars, cereal or cookies.
Innovation and Environmental Stewardship are our Missions
Innovative and sustainable harvesting methods combined with cutting-edge product development have made us one of the most prominent cranberry handlers.
We Strive to be Good Citizens
Our concern for our environs extends beyond our bogs and into our neighborhoods. Decas is involved in many community activities and organizations, donating to food banks, encouraging employee volunteer efforts and supporting civic and fundraising activities.
A Company You Can Feel Good About
We work hard to be a better company and to provide a better berry to every customer, everytime. We hope you enjoy them!
